Our Community Blessing Pantry opened in 2022 to serve the needs of a food bank in our immediate area. It is open 24/7 and is supported only by private donations of dry goods and monetary gifts, both from our congregation, surrounding churches, and private citizens.
In partnership with Our Journey of Hope (OJOH) we provide a cancer care ministry with gift bags to patients undergoing chemotherapy or radiation treatments. Since cancer treatments can last many hours, contents for the bags include many things, a shoulder wrap, lap afghan, beanie, oral care products, deodorant, meal supplements, notebooks, pens, reading and puzzle materials. Our primary recipients are through the Juravinski Cancer Centre overseen by our in-house chaplain, Juliette Alzate. Private donations are made on a personal request basis.
